How to use Remote Desktop, Fast User Switching and 'Lock Computer' in Windows XP

DESCRIPTION: Beyond TV can still record with Remote Desktop, Fast User Switching or Locking the Computer, given that the computer has capture hardware that also supports these features.ARTICLE: At the current time, all capture devices support this functionality except:ATI All In Wonder Series Cards nVidia Personal Cinema Cards To Use Fast User Switching and "Lock Computer," no setup is required on the Beyond TV machine. To Use Remote Desktop, you must use the newest version of the Remote Desktop Connection software that is designed to access Windows XP. From the "Remote Desktop Connection" software, choose OPTIONS --> LOCAL RESOURCES --> REMOTE COMPUTER SOUND --> LEAVE AT REMOTE COMPUTER. Once this setting is made, Beyond TV will continue to record properly even with a Remote Desktop Connection session open. | |
