Cutting / Deleting commercials from recordings

DESCRIPTION: Many customers have asked how to get Beyond TV to remove the commercial intervals, identified by the SmartSkip function, from a recording. For legal reasons, our software does not remove the commercials from the recording, it merely marks where it detects the commercials, enabling the user to more easily skip them. Additionally, and also for legal reasons, this feature must be enabled by the user -- it does not come automatically enabled.ARTICLE: Beyond TV indicates the timestamps of these detected intervals in an XML file named similarly to the recording; a third-party application may someday (and might already) exist that can automatically process the recording and its attendant SmartSkip-generated XML file afterwards, removing those intervals without user input.Otherwise, actual removal of commercials from recordings must be done manually by the user, with a third-party video editing software. | |
