Installing the Firefly remote on Windows Vista

DESCRIPTION:

How to install the Firefly remote on a computer that is running Windows Vista.

ARTICLE:

During the Firefly's installation process, you will receive multiple errors and not be able to finish the installation in Windows Vista. Please be aware that this is a temporary solution to have the Firefly remote working in Windows Vista. Please perform the following steps:
  • First you will have to download the latest Firefly software from our website, so please browse to SnapStream.com and download the "Upgrade to Firefly 1.2.1" software.


  • After the download is done, go ahead and start the installation process. As soon as you start the program, a window will appear with the text "A program needs your permission to continue." Press Continue to proceed with the installation.


  • During the installation, you will get an error that appears like this:

    Click OK and then a 2nd window will appear:

    Click on "Check online for a solution and close the program" and the process will continue.


  • During this process you will encounter this error again, just follow the steps as before to continue.


  • After bypassing these errors, the installation will continue and finish without any other issues

The Firefly remote will now work within Windows Vista, remember as stated before, this is only a temporary solution until a new release of the software is completed.
