Common solutions to Link display problems
Posted by Daniel Mee on 19 November 2007 01:11 PM

DESCRIPTION:

SnapStream Enterprise TV Link requires a fully DirectX-9 compatible graphics card to function properly. In some cases, a graphics card that does not support 3D acceleration will fail either on entering the SnapStream interface or on starting Live TV, or CPU usage may jump to 100% when the interface is opened. This article describes steps that can be taken to attempt to solve this problem.

ARTICLE:

First, try changing the "Video Renderer" setting (in the ViewScape: SETTINGS --> PLAYBACK SETTINGS --> Video Renderer) to see if the results improve. Acceptable values are "3D-Accelerated" and "Overlay."

If that doesn't help, setting the Link client to use software rendering may solve the problem. To do this, first exit the Linkclient. Then, take the following steps:

1. Open the following file (on the system drive) in a text editor:

\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\Settings.xml

2. Find the following string at the top of the text file:

<Settings><Property>

3. Between these two values, paste the following:

<Property><Name>SoftwareRendering</Name><Value>True</Value></Property>

so that the value reads (in part):

<Settings><Property><Name>SoftwareRendering</Name><Value>True</Value></Property><Property>

4. Save the file under its original filename, and restart SnapStream Enterprise TV Link.
