Configuring services for guide data downloads and LDAP integration

DESCRIPTION:

This article gives instructions for configuring Enterprise TV services to use login credentials in order to resolve problems downloading guide data.

This procedure should only be used when guide downloads fail with 5% complete or less, but the Setup Wizard does NOT display an error when attempting to download user lineups. If the Setup Wizard displays an error saying it cannot connect to the Internet, this procedure will not resolve the problem. If you see such an error, please contact your network administrator or SnapStream Enterprise Support.

This procedure is sometimes also necessary for enabling LDAP integration.

NOTE: This procedure will require any in-progress recordings to be stopped for five to ten minutes.

1. Right-click on the TV icon in the system tray and select Stop Services. When the services have been stopped successfully, a dialog box will appear that says "The services have been stopped." Click OK.

NOTE: It may take as long as several minutes for the services to stop completely. Please wait for the dialog box to appear before taking any other action.


2. Open the Start menu and select Control Panel (Settings=> Control Panel in the Classic Start menu). In the Control Panel, select Administrative Tools=> Services.


3. Find the TV Services in the list of services in the right windowpane. Right-click on the TV Network service and select Properties.


4. Select the Log On tab.


5. Select This account. Then enter the name and password of the user who is currently logged in to the Enterprise TV Server. Then click OK.


6. Repeat steps 4-6 for the rest of the TV services.


7. Right-click on the TV icon in the system tray and select Start Services. When the services have been started successfully, a dialog box will appear that says "The services have been started." Click OK.


8. Open Enterprise TV and attempt a manual guide update.
