SnapStream Web Player Requirements
ARTICLE:
System requirements for the SnapStream Web Player are as follows:
Windows computer
Apple Macintosh computer

- Microsoft Windows Vista, XP Home, XP Professional, or Windows 7
- DirectX 9.0 or greater
- Processor: Pentium, Celeron or AMD Athlon at 700mhz and above. Recommended: Pentium, Celeron or AMD Athlon at 1.5ghz and above
- 192 MB RAM
- Video Card: nVidia GeForce 2 and above, ATI Graphics Radeon 7500 and above, others with 16 MB RAM, 3D Acceleration, DirectX 9.0 compatibility
- 1 GB Hard Drive
- Network Connection: 10/100 Wired Ethernet or 802.11a or 802.11g Wireless
- Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Mozilla Firefox 3.5, 3.6, 4.0 or 5.0, Apple Safari 3,or Google Chrome
Digital TV:

- Network Connection to Server: 100 Mbit or 1 Gbit wired Ethernet
- Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Mozilla Firefox 3.5, 3.6, 4.0, 5.0, 9.0 or 10, Apple Safari 3,or Google Chrome
Note: The web player is NOT supported in Internet Explorer 7. Users who cannot update Internet Explorer or use another browser should use Enterprise TV Link for playback with SnapStream.
The SnapStream Web Player requires the following Microsoft software components. These components must be installed with administrator privileges.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Download
Note: this component may require a reboot.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) Download
Note: the x86 version of this package is needed, even for 64-bit operating systems.
The Web Player and Enterprise TV Link
If you have a previous version of the Enterprise TV Link client, please upgrade to the latest version before you install the Web Player. If you do not have the client installed on the system, you may continue with the Web Player installation. Access the Web Admin and then click on "Play" on any of the completed recordings(Not recordings that are currently in progress) and it will notify you that the Web Player plugin is not installed. Click on the link and install the plugin. Once you have installed it, close your browser and restart it and it will be installed.

Apple Macintosh computer
System Requirements:
- MacOS X Snow Leopard (10.6.3 and Above) or Lion (10.7 and Above)
- Apple PC or Laptop Based on Intel Core2 Duo, Core i3, i5, i7 or Xeon Processor.
- 2GB Ram
- Apple Safari, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox 8, 9 or 10. (Firefox 11 is compatible in Enterprise TV 5.5 and above only, if you have a previous version please make sure to disable your auto updates.)
- Network Connection: Wireless A or N or 100Mbit or Gigabit Ethernet
Notes: Video playback is limited to pre-recorded Mpeg-2 and Mpeg-2 Transport Stream content. Mozilla Firefox is the only browser that is currently supported; Safari and Chrome are not supported at this time. The web player plugin is installed per user- if a different user logs in to the machine, they will need to install the web player again.
Installation Steps:
- Log in to the SnapStream web interface and click the Library link.
- Click Play for any recording.
- You'll be prompted to download a Disk Image for the web player. Download the image, and make sure to choose "Save."
- In the Downloads window, double-click the Disk Image to open it.
- Exit Firefox. (You can hit Command - Q and/or right click on the Firefox icon in the dock and Exit)
- Run the Install SnapStream Web Player Plugin Script that is included in the image.
- Close the Terminal Window once the script completes.
- Restart Firefox, return to the Library and click Play for the recording that you want to watch.
