Audio and video become progressively more out of sync while watching a recording and live TV
Posted by - NA - on 28 December 2005 07:52 AM

DESCRIPTION:

Audio and video became progressively more out of sync while watching either live TV or recordings using MPEG-2, the default file format. This most often occurs because the machine running Beyond TV does not have enough resources to write data to the hard drive in a timely manner, causing video frames to be dropped. During playback, the video is played at the proper framerate, causing audio and video to gradually lose sync with each other.

ARTICLE:

First, defragment the hard drive where Beyond TV stores video files. Use the utilities provided on your Windows operating system or third-party software.

Try watching live TV and / or making and playing back a new recording to see if this corrects the problem.

Second, run a spyware and virus scanning / removal utility to ensure that your machine has all resources available to devote to the applications that need them - in this case, Beyond TV.

Finally, ensure that no other non-essential Windows programs or processes are running when using Beyond TV.
