Audio in recordings or Live TV stops after a few seconds or minutes
Posted by - NA - on 28 December 2005 07:52 AM

DESCRIPTION:

Live TV, or recordings made with Beyond TV, have audio for several seconds or minutes, but eventually go silent.

ARTICLE:

Norton Antivirus often causes this problem when it has "MSN Messenger scanning" on, as does Outlook XP with "MSN Messenger integration." Disabling these should help to remedy the problem.

Alternately, certain "screen-savers" can cause this problem by occupying DirectX resources that BeyondTV needs in order to function properly. Try disabling any "screen-savers" to see if that remedies the problem.

Finally, this problem often points to an IRQ conflict; Access your BIOS and disable the "USE IRQ FOR USB" (for USB tuner devices) or "USE IRQ for PCI" (for PCI tuner devices) option. This option may be named differently depending on the manufacturer of your computer's BIOS. For information on accessing and changing settings in your computer's BIOS, see your motherboard manual.
