How to change the location (directory / folder) Beyond TV uses to store recordings

DESCRIPTION: In Beyond TV 3.7.2 and later, the default location Beyond TV uses to store its recordings is set in the Setup Wizard. Follow these directions if you are using an older version of Beyond TV, or do not wish to remove the "Video Folder" when defining a new one as per the Setup WIzard. Note that defining a different Video Folder as the default is necessary in order to delete the "Common" Video Folder.ARTICLE: 1. Create a new Video Folder by accessing the Beyond TV Web Admin. Open the address http://localhost:8129 on the PC running Beyond TV, and navigate to: CONFIGURE (SETTINGS in 3.5) --> VIDEO FOLDERS.Hit the "Create New Video Folder" button and fill out the "Path" and "Description" information. It is also recommended that you enable "Automatic Folder Management" so that Beyond TV can delete older files in order to make room for new recordings. 2. Assign one of your new Video Folders as the Default video folder if you wish Beyond TV to place its recordings there, via CONFIGURE (SETTINGS in 3.5) --> RECORDING PREFERENCES. Set "Video Folder" according to where you wish Beyond TV to place its recordings by default. 3. Optionally, you may return to the Video Folders configuration section to delete the "Common" folder if you are no longer using it. Please note that one of your Video Folders *must* be set as the "Default" (as described in step 2). NOTES: - "Configure" has been changed to "Settings" in version 3.5 and later. - The Web Admin is not available by default from the system tray menu. | |
