Solution

DESCRIPTION:

Instructions on watch recordings made using Beyond TV on your PocketPC. This method involves streaming media files from the computer running Beyond TV directly to PocketPC over a wireless network connection.

NOTE: This information applies specifically to Beyond TV version 3.4.4 and earlier, and may not work with newer versions.

ARTICLE:

1. Recompress shows you've recorded using Beyond TV's ShowSqueeze feature. Make sure you are recompressing to a quality that can be streamed to PocketPC (e.g. "PocketPC - iPAQ High" or "PocketPC - Jornada"). You may alter this setting via WEB ADMIN --> CONFIGURE --> SHOWSQUEEZE.

2. Connect to the computer running Beyond TV via your wireless network by opening Internet Explorer for Pocket PC. In the browser's address field, enter http://IPADDRESS:8129 where IPADDRESS is the IP address of the machine on which Beyond TV is running.

3. This will launch a Watch page that displays recordings available for viewing. Select the show you want to watch and launch it in the Windows Media Player for PocketPC.

NOTE: If you have playback problems, make sure you are using Windows Media Player 6.4 (Tech Preview 2, available here: http://www.snapstream.com/Support/downloads/wmpppc.exe) or that you are using Windows Mobile 2003 or newer. These are the only two players that are able to receive streamed content from Beyond TV.
