Solution

DESCRIPTION:

If you have lost the password tied to the "admin" user, you can turn off securtiy from the local computer to allow you to access Beyond TV again.

ARTICLE:

IN VERSION 3.4.X AND PREVIOUS:
First, exit Beyond TV. Open the file: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\Security.xml using Notepad.

Replace the line

SecuritySwitch True /SecuritySwitch

with

SecuritySwitch False /SecuritySwitch

and save the changes. Restart Beyond TV and security will be disabled.


Alternately, you can set your security settings back to their defaults by deleting that file.

IN VERSION 3.5 to 4.5:
First, exit Beyond TV. Open the file:

\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\Settings.xml

in Notepad. Use the Search function to find the tag named "Security:"

<Name>Security</Name>
<Value>TRUE</Value>

Replace "<Value>TRUE</Value>" with "<Value>FALSE</Value>"

and save the changes. Restart Beyond TV and security will be disabled.

IN VERSION 4.6 to 4.7.1:
First, exit Beyond TV. Open the file:

Windows XP / 2000
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\WebAdminUsers.xml

Windows Vista
\ProgramData\SnapStream\Beyond TV\WebAdminUsers.xml

in a XML Editor. Look for the tag named "Security:"

<Name>Security</Name>
<Value>TRUE</Value>

Replace "<Value>TRUE</Value>" with "<Value>FALSE</Value>"

and save the changes. Restart Beyond TV and security will be disabled.

IN VERSION 4.8.1 and above:
Exit Beyond TV and navigate to this directory:

Windows XP / 2000
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\

Windows Vista
\ProgramData\SnapStream\Beyond TV\

Delete the Users.db file and then restart Beyond TV and security will be disabled.
