TV-OUT doesn't work on Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 when used with Beyond TV - SnapStream Knowledgebase
Solution

DESCRIPTION:

THe TV-OUT on PVR-350 does not display Beyond TV's output.

ARTICLE:

The PVR-350 only recognizes overlay images from media playback, in conjunction with its hardware MPEG-2 decoder, for use with its TV-OUT.

As a result, the PVR-350 will only show MPEG-2 output through that TV-OUT.

In order for Beyond TV to use the PVR-350's TV OUT properly, it would have to format all of its visual output as an MPEG-2 stream and pass it to the PVR-350, which would not only completely negate the effectiveness of using a hardware encoding tuner device, but would also result in a "lag" in control response of approximately two to three seconds.

The only other way this output can be used with a PVR software is by showing everything but MPEG-2 output (on-screen display, program information, menus, Windows Media format playback, AVI format playback, et. Al.) on a different display, which would require the use of two displays.

BeyondTV is currently designed to use the 3D hardware functions of your system's graphics card using DirectX / Direct3D to provide the best performance and video quality available. To render its interface on the PVR-350 it would require a significant redesign of the software.

For this reason, the "TV-OUT" on the PVR-350 is not supported and is not likely to be supported in the future.
