Solution

DESCRIPTION:

The ATI Remote Wonder or FireFly remote enters commands twice; pressing "5" will enter "55," et cetera.

ARTICLE:

Solution 1:
For Beyond TV version 3.4.4 and previous:
  1. Exit BeyondTV.
  2. Open the following file in a text editor such as Notepad*:
    \documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond tv\PVSApp.ini
  3. Find the entry:
    EnableX10Remote=
  4. Set it to:
    EnableX10Remote=0
  5. Save the file under its original filename and start BeyondTV.

For Beyond TV version 3.5.0 and later:
  1. Exit BeyondTV.
  2. Open the following file in a text editor such as Notepad*:
    \documents and settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond tv\Settings.xml
  3. Find the entry:

    <Property>
    <Name>EnableX10Remote</Name>
    <Value>TRUE</Value>
    </Property>

    Change "<Value>TRUE</Value>" to "<Value>FALSE</Value>" as in this example:

    <Property>
    <Name>EnableX10Remote</Name>
    <Value>FALSE</Value>
    </Property>
  4. Save the file under its original filename and start BeyondTV.

Solution 2, for any version of Beyond TV:
This can also happen if the ATI Remote Wonder, or an X10 PC Remote, was installed on the system previously. In this case, their drivers remain resident and may be "echoing" in time with the FireFly drivers. Uninstalling the Remote Wonder / X10 PC Remote drivers should clear up the problem. Additionally, if the RF receiver for the ATI Remote Wonder is attached to the system, irrespective of drivers, this may also happen.
