Serial cable controlled receiver resets on channel change
Serial cable controlled receiver resets on channel change - SnapStream Knowledgebase
Solution
DESCRIPTION:
A set-top box controlled by the serial cable version resets when changing channels. This occurs because by default, the tuner interface sends a "power on" signal to the box before it sends the channel change. On some models, specifically the RCA DRD435RH (because there are two different model types with this model number), this causes the receiver to reset. Please note that using this DLL in version 3.5 and later is not recommended unless you are only using one serial tuning device.
ARTICLE:
Shut down BeyondTV and download the following file:
http://www.snapstream.com/Support/downloads/rcadll.zip
1) Unzip this file to:
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Snapstream\Beyond TV\tuner
2) Shut down and restart BeyondTV
3) Go to:
(In version 3.4.4 and earlier)
WEB ADMIN --> CONFIGURE --> ADVANCED SETTINGS... --> VIDEO SOURCES.
(In version 3.5 and later)
WEB ADMIN (http://localhost:8129) --> SETTINGS --> AUDIO AND VIDEO INPUTS.
Edit the video source you're using.
4) Change (in version 3.4.4 and earlier) "Tuning Interface" / "Select Cable/Satellite Box Model" or (in version 3.5 and later) "External tuning" to "RCA DSS Tuner w/o Power On"
5) Hit the "Save changes" button.
Your tuner interface will now no longer send the power-on command before a channel change, eliminating the reset problem.
