Solution
DESCRIPTION:
Many Beyond Media PC's are controlled with a remote control and / or on a television. In this setup, keyboard and mouse control of a "two-foot" application is either not available or not desirable. This article describes how to configure Windows Media Player 10 to automatically "rip" Audio CD's to the WMA or MP3 format with no user intervention.
NOTE:
This feature cannot work in conjunction with automatically playing Audio CD's on insertion as described in
this Knowledge Base article
.
ARTICLE:
1) Start Windows Media Player 10 and go to TOOLS --> OPTIONS.
2) On the "Rip Music" tab, check the box labeled "Rip CD when inserted."
3) Optionally, you can configure Windows Media Player to "Eject [the] CD when ripping is complete," change the format of the audio files created by the ripping process, and configure the location to which the audio files will be saved.
4) Hit "apply" when finished.
