DESCRIPTION:

This article contains information regarding support for closed captioning (CC) in Beyond TV.

ARTICLE:

We do not currently have definite plans to support closed captioning, though it is a popular feature request.

In the meantime, users of Hauppauge hardware encoders, such as the WinTV PVR-250, can enable CC on the card itself; the CC text will be encoded along with the MPEG-2 stream. Note that this is a user-supplied solution and is not officially supported.
