When using XMLTV importer in Beyond TV, changing lineups alters recording attributes - SnapStream Knowledgebase
Solution

DESCRIPTION:

Some users of XMLTV notice that after changing their lineup from the "scanned lineup" provided by BTV to a newly imported XMLTV lineup, their video turns grey (or some other colors). This problem has been solved in large part by the creator of the XMLTV importer program. His instructions for fixing this problem are included in this article.

ARTICLE:

There are two methods of solving this problem. The first is the easiest, which should work in most cases:

  1. Download version 4.0 (or newer) of the XMLTV Importer.
  2. Remove the video sources and lineups from BTV using the Web Admin. For information on accessing the Web Admin interface and accessing the lists of video sources and channel lineups, , see the Beyond TV Help file.
  3. Use graphedit to revert Proc Amp properties to default values (for Hauppauge cards and possibly some others):
    • Download our debug ZIP file, which contains Graphedit.
    • Run Graphedit.exe and select "insert filters" from the Graph menu.
    • Expand the list of "Video Capture Sources."
    • Select the capture source that corresponds to your capture card and click "Insert Filter."
    • Click "Close."
    • Right-click on the filter as it appears in the GraphEdit Main Window and select "Filter Properties..."
    • Select the "Video Proc Amp" tab and click "Default."
    • Hit APPLY, then OK, then close Graphedit.

    • Click to enlarge "GraphEdit Example"

  4. Run through the BTV Setup Wizard.
  5. Run through the XMLTV Import Wizard.
  6. In the Importer Channel Editor, assign your XMLTV lineup to the BTV Video Sources.

If the above instructions do not work, take these steps:

  1. Download version 4.0 (or newer) of the XMLTV Importer.
  2. Uninstall Beyond TV and the capture card drivers.
  3. Reboot the machine.
  4. reinstall the capture card driver and Beyond TV.
  5. Run through the BTV Setup Wizard.
  6. Run through the XMLTV Import Wizard.
  7. In the Importer Channel Editor, assign your XMLTV lineup to the BTV Video Sources.
