• Download the IR blaster software for your Hauppauge TV tuner from the support site.



• Step 1 - Extract the Installer
  Download the file to a suitable location on your computer, then extract it (Windows has built in support for zip files, if you right click on the file and select 'extract all' a wizard will guide you through extracting the directory).



• Step 2 - Remove the previous software version (if necessary)
  If you had previously installed the WinTV on your PC, browse to the folder you just extracted to (e.g. through My Computer) and locate a file called hcwclear.exe Run HCWCLEAR.EXE and choose the options Remove All WinTV Drivers and Applications (Total Removal) and Search All .INF Files for Conflicting Hardware. Note: wait until the black box has disappeared of its own accord before proceeding.



• Step 3 - Reboot
  Shutdown and reboot your PC.



• Step 4 - New Driver Installation
  After Windows reboots, you will see the New Hardware Found prompt. Cancel the New Hardware Wizard. Run HCWDriverInstall.exe, from the unzipped directory. This will install the Windows driver for your WinTV. At the completion of the driver install, you should see a message which says Drivers have been updated sucessfully..



• Step 5 - Run Setup.exe
  Run Setup.exe from the extracted folder (from Step 1). You will be presented with a list of things to install, leave all the default settings and click Install. Once the installation is complete, all drivers will be installed and you should have a WinTV icon on your desktop.



• Step 6 - Run BlasterCfg or IRBlasterCfg
  Click on Start - All Programs - Hauppauge WinTV - BlasterCfg. Put a check mark next to "Allow External IR Blaster App." and then fill in the fields for your set top box. If your box is not listed attempt the Test All (Scan) feature placing a 1 in the Code Set box then click Test All. Wait for the set top box box to turn off. When it turns off immediately click Stop. That will be the correct code for blaster configuration. If the Scan cycles through all 200 of the pre-defined codes and your set top box still does not respond click on Advanced Config - Learning to train your IR blaster. (Please note: The learn feature is only available for the HD-PVR and the HVR-1950.) Hold your original set top box remote up within 6 inches of the IR receiver. Press the button to Learn in the Blaster Config Utility then press the corresponding button on your remote. Wait for the utility to confirm that button then proceed to the next button.

• Step 7 - Run the Beyond TV setup wizard
  Add your sources and configure your lineups like normal, during the process it will ask you if you have a Tuning Device, select Hauppauge IR Blaster and then continue through the wizard.
